Everyone who isn't moving,
like the one-footed woman
crossing main street on the stone steps
is watching the photographer
balanced with his gigantic 16x20 view camera
on a wrought iron terrace
I have stood on that terrace
looking out over Main Street
It was a dentist's office in the 1960's
"Excuse me... could I take a photograph
from your terrace... you see... I'm..."
I have it somewhere
and many of the stores are still there
J.T. McRum's drug store
W.T. Agnor's funtiture
at least they were 100 years later
when I was a student
The wrought iron is still there
after 140 years
I checked just a few weeks ago
This guy just KNOWS
he's important
