Squirrel Island
is a summer resort colony,
a straight shot south
of Boothbay Harbor

There are no squirrels on the island
but its shape is suggestive
of a squirrel with his tail
curled up behind him.
(look at the moderator's tie)

Everyone has to vacate in winter
when the pipes would freeze
so everyone is from somewhere else.
This may explain their invariably
friendly reception of strangers.
