an aside:

98,000,000 years years ago the supernova SN 1994ae lit up NGC 3370.
When the word finally reached us in 1994, Rudolph Schild took this photograph from Mount Hopkins in Arizona... see Riess (STScI)
20 years before I lived nearby, hiked those mountains, and looked up into the same dark night skies... a connection
... it's a small universe ...
